OUR HISTORY

In 1959, when Gouda cheese was selling for 79¢ a pound and King peppermints for 10¢ a roll, Jack Thalen purchased an existing Dutch store with the help of his suppliers. From its first location on MacDonell St in 1959, the Dutch Toko grew to become the multi-generational retail business it is today, and continues to flourish and serve the Guelph and Hamilton community.
